Dingg Setup Guide: Get Your Account Running in 30 Minutes

This guide walks you through setting up your Dingg account from scratch -- from creating your account to processing your first appointment. Setup typically takes 20 to 30 minutes. If you follow these steps in order, your Dingg account will be fully operational, including online booking, staff management, and automated client communication, before you finish.
Step 1: Create Your Dingg Account
Go to dingg.app and click 'Get Started'. You will be asked for your business name, business type (salon, spa, barbershop, nail studio, wellness centre, or similar), your city, and your contact details. Enter your mobile number -- this becomes your login credential and the number Dingg uses to send you platform notifications.
After you submit the form, you will receive a verification OTP on your mobile number. Enter it to confirm your number and activate your account.
Once inside, you will land on the Dingg dashboard. Before exploring the features, complete your business profile -- this affects how your salon appears to clients who find you through Dingg's client-facing tools.
Step 2: Complete Your Business Profile
Navigate to Settings and then Business Profile. Fill in:
- Business name (as you want it to appear to clients)
- Full address including PIN code or zip code
- Business hours for each day of the week (you can set different hours per day and mark days as closed)
- Contact number and email address
- A short business description (used in client-facing profiles)
- Upload your logo and at least one exterior or interior photo of your salon
Complete the business profile before you configure services or staff. The business hours you set here determine which time slots are available for appointment booking -- if you set these incorrectly, your booking calendar will show wrong availability.
Step 3: Add Your Services
Go to Services in the left menu and click Add Service. For each service, enter:
- Service name
- Category (haircut, colour, treatment, nail, skin, etc.)
- Duration in minutes
- Price
- Whether the service requires a specific staff member or can be performed by any trained staff
- Buffer time after the service if it needs cleanup or processing time before the next booking
Build your full service menu before moving to staff setup. When you assign staff to services in the next step, Dingg uses the service duration and buffer time to calculate which time slots each staff member can take.
Tip: create service categories that match how your clients think about your offerings, not how your internal operations are organised. Clients searching for 'hair colour' should find it immediately without navigating multiple sub-menus.
Step 4: Add Your Staff
Go to Staff in the left menu and click Add Staff. For each staff member, enter their name, contact number, designation or role, and which services they are trained and authorised to perform.
Set individual working hours per staff member if they differ from the main business hours. A part-time stylist who works Tuesday through Saturday should have those hours set here -- this prevents Dingg from showing their name as available for Monday bookings.
Assign each staff member to the specific services they perform. Dingg uses this to match the right staff member to each appointment type and to calculate accurate availability for online booking.
Step 5: Configure Online Booking
Go to Settings and then Online Booking. Enable online booking and configure:
- Advance booking window: how far ahead clients can book (most salons set 30 to 60 days)
- Minimum advance notice: the shortest notice a client can book before the appointment (30 to 60 minutes is typical; this prevents someone from booking a 2-hour treatment 5 minutes before it would need to start)
- Maximum concurrent bookings per slot: how many simultaneous appointments the salon can handle
- Whether new client bookings require manual confirmation or are auto-confirmed
Once online booking is enabled, Dingg generates a booking link for your salon. Share this link on your Instagram bio, Google Business Profile, WhatsApp Business profile, and your website. Clients who click the link can view your services, select a time, and confirm an appointment without calling.
Step 6: Set Up Automated Appointment Reminders
Go to Settings and then Notifications. Enable appointment reminder messages and configure the timing. The recommended setup is:
- First reminder: 24 hours before the appointment
- Second reminder: 2 hours before the appointment
- Channels: WhatsApp (primary), SMS (backup)
Appointment reminders are one of the highest-return features in Dingg. For salons that previously managed reminders manually or did not send them at all, automated reminders typically reduce no-shows by 30 to 50% within the first month.
Also enable the post-visit follow-up message -- a message sent automatically after an appointment asking the client how their experience was and inviting them to rebook. This message is the primary driver of client return rates and review volume for Dingg salons.
Step 7: Add Your Client List (Optional)
If you have an existing client list in a spreadsheet or exported from another system, you can import it into Dingg. Go to Clients and select Import. Dingg accepts CSV files with columns for name, phone number, and email address.
Once imported, your existing clients will appear in the Dingg client database. Future appointments with these clients will build their service history automatically, and lapsed-client detection will begin tracking their visit frequency.
If you do not have a client list to import, skip this step. Dingg builds client profiles automatically when clients book appointments -- their profile is created at first booking and updated with every subsequent visit.
Step 8: Process Your First Appointment
With your profile, services, staff, and booking configuration in place, book a test appointment to verify everything is working correctly.
Go to Appointments and click New Appointment. Select a service, choose a staff member, pick a date and time, and enter a client name and phone number. Confirm the appointment. You should see it appear in the calendar view immediately.
Verify that the appointment reminder is scheduled to go out at the time you configured. If the appointment is more than 24 hours away, the first reminder will queue automatically. You can see the reminder queue in the Notifications section.
After confirming the test appointment works correctly, your Dingg account is fully operational.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set up a Dingg account?
To set up a Dingg account, go to dingg.app and click Get Started. Enter your business name, type, location, and contact details, then verify your mobile number with the OTP. Once inside, complete your business profile, add your services with durations and pricing, add your staff with their assigned services and working hours, configure online booking settings, and enable automated appointment reminders. The full setup takes 20 to 30 minutes and should be done in the order listed above, as each step builds on the previous one.
What can I manage through the Dingg app?
Through the Dingg app you can manage appointment scheduling and the booking calendar, client profiles and service history, staff schedules and availability, service menu with pricing and duration, automated appointment reminders and follow-up messages, business analytics and revenue reporting, inventory tracking, and membership and package programmes. The mobile app gives access to the appointment calendar, client check-in, and key performance metrics. The web dashboard provides full access to configuration, reporting, and admin functions.
Is Dingg suitable for small salons?
Yes, Dingg is designed to work for salons of any size -- from solo practitioners to multi-location chains. For small salons and independent stylists, the most immediately useful features are online booking (which eliminates the phone-only booking bottleneck), automated appointment reminders (which reduce no-shows without requiring any manual effort), and digital client records (which store service history, preferences, and contact details in one place rather than in notebooks or memory). The monthly cost of Dingg for a small salon is typically recovered within the first week from appointments that would otherwise have been lost to no-shows or missed calls.
